Menopause

Going through menopause is one of life’s biggest changes. Your body goes through numerous physical and emotional transformations. Going through this stage in your life can be a struggle if you are unprepared for what lies ahead. Symptoms that may be normal for this time in your life may seem strange and unexpected if you don’t have someone who understands what you’re going through.

Fortunately, many of the issues you may deal with are treatable and our caring physicians have years of experience guiding women through this important transitional time in their lives. When the time comes, we’ll be here to help you plan for, and deal with, everything that might come along.

Menopause counseling will help you understand what’s happening in your body so that you can be prepared for the changes you are experiencing. Counseling visits will involve you sitting down with your physician and discussing what you are going through and what to expect. From there, examinations can be performed and the proper treatments can be administered. You are not alone during your transition; we’re here to answer all of your questions and deal with any of your concerns.

You may experience very common menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, mood changes, and vaginal dryness for some time before you actually go through your last period. This stage is called perimenopause, which means “around menopause,” and refers to the years before and after your final menstruation. As you can see, menopause is not a rapid physiological change and that’s why you’ll need support throughout your transition.

If you are nearing the age when menopause often occurs, usually during your 40’s or 50’s, and are experiencing some of the common symptoms, please give us a call at 541-342-8616 or contact us today to make an appointment. We’ll help you start the next phase of life as gracefully as possible.
