Childbirth class is a very important part of your birth education at PWC. We hope you will learn what you need to know about the end of pregnancy, signs of labor, when to call your doctor and go to the hospital. You might also learn about options like medications, relaxation, breathing, positioning and more.  This is not a “specific” type of birthing classes for breathing techniques and labor exercises.

Focus is on a class rich with practical suggestions for both vaginal and abdominal births.  Jacqui discusses the personal nature of birthing, along with the importance of a woman’s right to choices for labor coping.  She enjoys sharing the joy and expectations with both mothers and fathers-to-be, encouraging interactive discussion and participation.  The childbirth education classes are presented in a two-part form and are held on Monday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Please contact our office 541-342-8616 to schedule an appointment or schedule at the time of your next OB visit.

Jacqui’s Tidbits:  “I am very lucky to be a part of so many births and to support families during this important time in their lives. In my spare time, I am a mom to 3 teenagers that keep me busy with their activities. My family and I enjoy the outdoors and I like to consider myself an “urban farmer” with horses, chickens and pigs once a year.”

Little Known Fact: Childbirth classes provide a great opportunity to meet other expectant parents who will have a child the same age as yours. You may make new friends!
